Thanksgiving!

The day before Thanksgiving we were able to take the big boys to see the movie Frozen 2 at Studio Movie Grill. It was so much fun! The movie was good, but we felt it was also a bit dark and heavy for little kids.

Harrison had RSV so we were not going to be able to make it to my family's Thanksgiving. It was so sad. We did not want the babies Otto and Mathew to catch it though so we felt it best we stayed home. Geoffrey had the sweet idea that we make our Thanksgiving dinner a day early so we can have it with the big boys as well. We all worked hard together as a family to make it in time!

We have so much to be thankful for. Sometimes it is hard to focus on the good when we are feeling so much of the negative going on around us. We do our best though to look for the good and the blessings around us each day. We are thankful that Geoffrey has such a good job. That the boys are safe in our home most of the time, that I am able to homeschool them all. We are thankful for insurance, for our dear family nearby. We are blessed to have such an incredible ward who helps us so much. We are blessed to have the home we do for the price we have it. We have 2 functioning vehicles, working appliances, comfortable beds, and so much more.
Most importantly, we have each other, the gospel knowledge and our testimonies.

I am often amazed at how quickly we are able to come together with plans when they change so quickly. We decided on Tuesday to have Thanksgiving with our family Wednesday. I ran to the store and picked up A TON of ingredients so we could have a wonderful dinner. Amazingly enough, I was even able to find a Turkey! It was A LOT of work pulling it all together and we definitely over did it but it was well worth it. We ended up making pies, turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato soufflĂ©, green been casserole, bread, mac and cheese, and several other things. The boys loved the food and kept eating! Poor Greggie ate so much that he threw up. We ended up eating left overs for the rest of the week but it was worth it! I am so grateful for my family and the love that we have together. As mommy said, we have so much to be grateful for. I am thankful for Mommy and the love she has for me and for the children. She is a wonderful  and amazing woman. I am grateful for Greggie, Calvin, Watson, Perry, Eli and Harrison. They bring me so much happiness and joy. I am grateful for their examples of love and selflessness. I am grateful that they are patient with me when I am still learning how to be a better father each new day. I am grateful for our Loving Heavenly Father. He has brought us together and we will be forever blessed because of that. I know that Jesus is the Christ and that He will help us through all of our trials. We are meant to find Joy in this life and because of Jesus Christ, we can find joy in our every day lives.
