Geoffrey told me that my mom was able to watch the boys (there were just two Watson and Eli) on Saturday for us to go to the temple. I thought that was nice that he planned that and has worked to make sure we go each month. He told me it would be cold in the morning so I might want to dress warm. I decided to wear my sweater dress and a light sweater on top.
As we were driving Geoffrey said, "well, there is good news and bad news. Which do you want first?" I was like, really? haha. He said the good news is that we are still going to the temple, but the bad news was not the Dallas Temple. I was so confused. I was like...uhhh. He said we have the whole day together. So then I was preparing myself for a road trip mindset that maybe we were going to the San Antonio temple? He said, No, we are going to the Salt Lake Temple. We are getting on a plane right now." I was like,....WHAAA? I couldn't wrap my mind around that and he said he was not joking, we really were. He said he knew I had wanted to see a live session and had never been so he wanted to take me as a Christmas and 6 Month anniversary Gift before the temple closes for 4 years!!! WOW! Best gift ever! We would make it in time for one session maybe grab something to eat before getting on our flight home.
On the plane
Running to the Traxs station, realizing our mistake for how COOOOLD it would be! We could see our breath
The session was beautiful. It was a miracle we could go through when we did, it was very crowded. There wasn't a locker for my things so I put them on top of the lockers. I was doing initiatory for someone in Geoffrey's family, hoping I would get out in time to go through with Geoffrey. I felt very calm and peaceful. I thought for a moment about a blessing Geoffrey had given me recently. It mentioned that I had many angels wanting to help me that were there, I was never alone. I thought about who might be there. My dad? A thought came to me that future children were probably there. Maybe even a daughter. It is amazing to me how every temple feels the same. I have the same feeling inside each of them. I have been to many temples in the last year!
We barely squeezed into the next session and it was amazing.
It was SO cold!!!! and so beautiful
We got Cotavida!
We then went to the book store and saw all these beautiful paintings. Many of them have special meaning to us.
We ended up getting a babysitter for Watson and Eli for overnight as our flight kept getting delayed and would push us to get back in the middle of the night. We got a hotel room that was the top suite they had! The receptionist didn't understand why it booked us for that room when we didn't pay for it, but gave it to us anyway. IT was nice! The bed was SO comfy! Which was good because our bodies hurt by the end of the night from all the walking in our not so good walking shoes. We could see the temple from our window! And, it was a corner room so there were two windows, in the corner. We were right above the city, the people on the street. Crazy.
We then went coat shopping. We found this nice leather jacket for Geoffrey that looks so good on him at Forever 21 on sale. I found a coat there that I really liked but the zipper was aweful! So bad we almost couldn't get me out of it!
So we went to Macys and I took forever trying to find a coat. We finally settled on one that I thought was SO comfy and was supposed to keep me warm up to 2-degree weather! It is SO comfy. While there Geoffrey's friend Justin met up with us. He took some nice pictures of us on temple square.
Sweet man
On the Traxs
At the airport we saw the phone he called his parents on when he left for his mission.
This was the biggest suprise! It is a trip we will never forget! Such an incredible experience! We had so many things go right that shouldn't have! We shouldn't have made it in the session we did. We shouldn't have had a flight delay, we shouldn't have been able to get a sitter for overnight, we shouldn't have gotten the suite, the best room in the hotel, we shouldn't have been able to see the temple square lights, but we did. The coat I got was on sale, but it was even cheaper than we originally thought when we went to buy it. I was amazed by all the blessings that we had. I knew it wasn't an accident.
I am so blessed by this man. He is so good to me! He listens to me and loves to surprise me and does a very good job doing it! We have had so many experiences together in the last 6 months of our marriage! Incredible! In 6 months I have noticed my heart changing bit by bit. He is healing to my soul.
