Grandma Geddie Birthday

We visited Grandma Geddie for her birthday. We ate dinner spent one night and the next day the kids were throwing up and had diarrhea. Three of them. The three that weren't sick went with Geoffrey to church with his parents and did Families can be together forever in sign language for the ward. I left with the kids right after lunch.

What a crazy trip! We drove down and had dinner with the family for Grandma Geddie's Birthday. The food was good but it always reminds me how much work it is to have 6 boys with 4 needed help with their food at a restaurant. It is pretty wild! Then Perry, Eli and Harrison got super sick with some bug and they did not feel well at all! I took Watson, Greggie, and Calvin to church with me while mommy stayed home with the sick boys. We then braved the long trip home and we were lucky that not of them threw up in the car!

Valentines Day!

This is our first Valentine's Day together! It's crazy that it was a year ago I was with someone else and Geoffrey was in deep mourning. What a year it has been!
We spent the morning seeing a lawyer. My mom watched the boys for us. We were really struggling after I went to mediation this week. It did not go very well as I felt the mediator wouldn't let me speak and had an agenda. My mom had an experience in the temple that gave her peace and helped her know that things could work out in a more peaceful way. Geoffrey and I wanted our answer on what our next step would be. After many prayers, we spoke with the lawyer and felt peace on what we needed to do. It was an answer to prayer! What a miracle and blessing.

We found these beautiful white roses and I knew they had to be moms

We made heart attacks and giant heart cookies as tradition

Something Geoffrey added to the table was heart pizza from pappa murphys.

Geoffrey surprised me with our date and it was an experience! We created a memory-making a welcome sign for our new home!!
My favorite part was when he would stop and dance with me to the romantic songs playing on the radio. He is so cute. It was actually very difficult to pick the colors we wanted. haha. We started off with the G being Blue. It was too much. Your eyes didn't know where to look. So we changed it to red. We were a little disappointed that the red didn't show up as well as we hoped but it still looks nice and is a wonderful memory we get to add to our many others!

Happy Valentines my Forever Valentine!!! I love you so much! As a fun thing, I printed a lot of silly notes for him to find throughout the house and had a surprise for him to find taped to the front door before he got home from Corpus. A scavenger hunt disguised as a mission with him as a secret agent haha. I got him adult coloring books and markers. He wrote me a sweet letter and got me flowers to go along with the date.

Special Surprise from Mom Geddie

We celebrated the life of Brianna and Geoffrey's little sister Elizabeth with Angel Food cake as they died a day apart years from each other. Geoffrey's mom wrote up the story of his little sister and his part in her life. She felt it prepared him for his future and in the man he has become and continues to be. He has always been a stalwart man. Words cannot describe this man!

Shingles!

Poor Geoffrey has Shingles!!!!!! They itch him real bad and if he scratches them they hurt, poor guy. Not sure how he got them or why, but he handles it very well. He does most things. He is a brave, strong, and wonderful man!

Greggie's Hearing Test

Later in the day after Harrison's ear surgery, Greggie had a hearing test done. They found fluid in his bad ear, and mild hearing loss in both ears. More in his bad ear. They noticed no movement of the ear drum in response to the sounds. He is now to be monitored at night to see if he snores. I already know he doesn't. After his ear is cleared he can be tested again and see if he might need surgery as well. Poor thing.

Poor Greggie seems to be having a pretty hard time hearing so we decided to get him tested as well. He doesn't seem to get nearly as many ear infections which is good but he did have a lot when he was a kiddo. I am grateful that we have been given the means to ensure our children the best medical care we can. I am grateful that Heavenly Father continues to bless our family!

Harrison Tube Surgery

My mom slept over so she could be here with the kids in the morning when we took Harrison to the hospital for his surgery early in the morning. They gave him a sedative to help him relax. It put me back to when Calvin was in the hospital for his wrist surgery. That was a more scary thing and was an accident. I still didn't like the idea of Harrison getting tubes but if it helped his healing and hearing I want to do it.

When he returned from Surgery he was very loopy and didn't have much control of his muscles yet. He was falling over in his bed when he sat up and wanted water really badly. He got his cup refiled and was guzzling.

After that he was very upset and was angry. He did not like it. Poor thing. The doctor said his ear drums were bad, basically mush and she put extra stuff around one of the tubes to hopefully keep it in. Hmm...is this really going to work is my thoughts. He suffered some for a while. But by day 2 he seemed to be okay.

I am grateful that I was able to miss work in order to be there with Mommy and Harrison today. Harrison was very excited and happy bright and early in the morning. It didn't seem to bother him that we were awake so early! We were able to play with a car for a bit before he had to get medicine and go back for surgery. He seemed to really enjoy me pushing him around in the car and I am glad that I had that special time with him while mom rested in the room. We talked and enjoyed time together while he was getting surgery. When Harrison came back, he was pretty cranky and didn't seem to understand what was happening but that seemed to be understandable considering the circumstances. We took him home and helped him rest and he seemed to be better after the medicine from surgery wore off.
