Faith's Family Visits/Carona Virus

Right after the sealing Faith and her kids stayed with us before heading home. There was a worry that Cody might have gotten contact with the virus so then she didn't know if she could go home. Then, Geoffrey had to meet with our previous landlord to do a walk through with him of the other house and he was coughing the entire time, worrying us. Faith decided she better leave the next morning to her in laws house until she knew if she could go home. We were sad to see them leave early but we understood.
That was the last time we had visitors. Probably for a long time. The virus has spread so much that week the governor mandated that crowds no more than 10 be together. The temple closed except for living ordinances for only 8 people. Then it quickly changed again. This week, a few days ago, ALL temples around the world have been closed completely. Not even for living ordinances. Such a sad day. Sad sad thought. No temples doing temple work. Spirits on the other side are mourning with us. Just a day shy now of when we were going to be sealed and ALL the temples are closed, we are all in quarentine, no going out except for essentials, people are working from home if possible, Jarom lost his job as a masseuse, he is looking for other ways of earning money. No one can see each other, there are limits of how much milk and toilet paper and other things at the store that you can buy. 2 gallons of milk and sometimes 1. We need 4 for our family. It is difficult to get a Walmart pickup slot because everyone is doing it. Amazon is slow because everyone is shopping online. It will take 3 weeks for anything to get anywhere. The church food online storehouse is closed, so our order was canceled. The dress I ordered to be sealed in I had paid for expedited shipping a month ago still hasn't arrived. And I am afraid it is coming from China so it could very well have the virus all over it. I tried to cancel it but I don't think that worked. So crazy. We are greatly blessed. Geoffrey has been asked to find out from the numbers who in the company needs to be furloughed. He doesn't like that. His job is safe though. He was even told that his Boss's boss was impressed with the work he has done from home and wants to have a meeting with him next week!

Greggie's room had a pink wall and a bright pink bathroom. It was very hard for him to stand to be in his room. He decided he couldn't do anything in there because the pink made him sad.  We decided to surprise him with it being painted while he was at his dads house for the weekend instead of waiting for his birthday. We did it for both boys Greggie and Calvin. When they saw it they were SOOOOOOOOO excited and happy! We had fun doing it for them. Greggie's wall was the most difficult to paint evenly for some reason.
When we told Greggie it might be a while before we could get some paint for his wall, he was very sad about it. We talked about how sometimes we have to go without things that we want in order to have things that we need. He kind of understood but was still struggling. That night he came to us and said he read the friend magazine for scriptures as he couldn't find his scriptures and read a story about a girl who had a bedroom with a color she didn't like and had to wait for it to be different. She learned about being grateful and having patience and learning to love what she had. It helped Greggie and we told him how cool of an experience that was for him. We encouraged him to write it down so he wouldn't forget.

There is no greater feeling in this life than being able to serve my wife and my children. I am grateful that were able to buy some paint and make Greggie feel like his room was his. It was so much fun painting with mommy and spending that time with her. Watson and Eli even enjoyed seeing what were were doing and wanted to help. We worked late into the night to ensure that there not a dot of pink paint left in Greggie's room. I am grateful for both Calvin and Greggie and for the young men that they are becoming.

Ammon's Birthday Party

We were able to attend some of Ammon's party in Durant. That was really special. We really love him. He has been such a good support to me.
I am grateful that we were able to attend the birthday party for Ammon. We chose to go to lunch but not the games and movie afterwards. I am glad that we were able to go and spend some time with family and be able to get to know Ammon even better!

We Are Sealed! March 13th, 2020

At the last minute I asked Kimberly Hedges if she would take pictures for us. She was so sweet and did it in spite of the inconvenience and weather forecast. It was a miracle as the rain stopped in time for us to get pictures. I did pray for that hahaha.

I drove Geoffrey's mother up to the temple in her van. She and my mom were the witnesses for our sealing. When we got there Kimberly took a couple of shots of us before we went in. We did some paperwork first. We told them that we decided to get sealed now in case the temple closed before the 28th. My mom and mother in law helped me to get ready in the bridal room. It was so different, knowing I was going to be sealed to Geoffrey. I found it hard to believe it was actually going to happen. Geoffrey and I then met with the sealer for a while and we talked about our story with him. We waited for Ammon as he got stuck in traffic.
The sealer talked about the covenants and ordinances that we make throughout our life and that this was the only one that required someone else. It was very special. Then the time came to be sealed. Looking into Geoffrey's eyes it was so crazy to think that this time it was for us. We had done sealings for others over the months, but this time was for us! So cool!
I wondered if I would feel different after. I did. It was so relieving. I felt so much like I was going to lose him before. Now I don't feel that. So nice!
We hugged everyone and then as we were about to go outside of the temple we asked about going out in my temple dress for pictures and the lady said, no it wasn't allowed. Geoffrey's mother said that at a different temple they did. She said, "You know what, it's the last days, who cares. Just don't tell anybody. It is the end of the world." oh my goodness lol. Then, she made a comment that it was a good thing I was pretty so I could get married?? Kinda funny. It was special to have my mom help me. It was special for Geoffrey's mother too because she was able to be there and participate. Faith was able to make it, Ammon, Jarom and Rebekah, Adam and Minnie, Kim Hedges, Geoffrey's parents, and Laura. Outside the temple the kids bombarded us and we did our best to take pictures. It was so fun! Felt so good to be sealed!

After we braved the virus to eat out at Spring Creek BBQ near by.

Beautiful picture of the temple from my mom. It looks like the day we were sealed because it looks as though it had just rained in the photo haha. So cool.

One of the more special things about this day is that we were sealed 50 years to the day of when my parents met on their blind date. Friday the 13th. Pretty awesome! :)
