I warned Geoffrey that the sealing day might be filled with struggles and things that go wrong because Satan wouldn't want us to have the spirit.
It was a busy day. Because we had planned on being sealed March 28th, we did not have everything very prepared. I went to the mall to find matching suits as the boys navy blue from the wedding in June were too small now on some of them. It was a VERY VERY rainy day. The first thing that happened was I opened the trunk to pull out the stroller for the mall. It fell on the hitch and got stuck. It was very hard to get it off and the kids got impatient. I finally got them in. Then it was sad we only found a few suits that matched and not all the right sizes. The toddler suits were perfect. The color and everything. We had to mix some things then we couldn't find ties that matched. I went to a different store. It was such an ordeal. Finally, I found ties. Then to leave the store/ That was an ordeal too!!! I got lost and circled the store several times. The kids were hungry and crying. I about lost it when I finally found the door to the outside of Macy's and the van was gone. I didn't see it anywhere! Finally, I called Geoffrey. He prayed with me. I then found the right door and the van was there. It was now pouring rain outside. My body got completely soaked. Especially my feet. I was wearing cloth shoes as I couldn't find my tennis shoes that morning and the ground was inches in rain. I took pictures because I could hardly believe it. I drove slowly to make it safely back home. The rain was insane. I told Geoffrey all the things that went wrong because I just couldn't believe it and to kinda prove my point that see, I knew things wouldn't go right. But then I decided to stop recounting those and think about the things that went right. I was able to find the cutest suits that were perfect, I did find pink ties that worked in color. The 2 ladies who checked me out at the cash register did their best at getting me whatever discounts they could come up with. The second lady said that I was a gift to God for her, just seeing me and the kids that morning. She said I looked so peaceful and happy even with the three little boys haha. I thought that was so crazy as I was not feeling that peaceful being so worn out by then and needing to get the kids lunch. I was able to get the kids lunch on the way home at Dairy Queen and get ready in time to go to the Temple. Things settled down after the crazy morning.
Shortly after my call with Mommy, I had to leave work to go and get brown shoes for the boys to wear. She then told me that one of the suits wasn't going to fit one of the boys so I had to rush over to the store to get the right size. Luckily they had the right size! Then I had to rush to the temple to ensure that we were going to be one time. Mommy informed me that she had not eaten so I called Grandma Smith to see if she could buy us some food prior to the sealing. We were both able to eat a snack prior to the sealing which made things a lot easier. Even though we rushed to get sealed due to the worldwide pandemic, I am grateful that we did not allow Satan to take away from our special day!
