My Mom's Procedure

I had the privilege of taking my mom to the hospital and being there with her for her heart catheterization procedure to be done. The doctor was worried enough about some results of tests she had done before snowbird that he didn't want her to go to snowbird and to have this procedure done to check on her heart. We were all praying she was okay. The procedure was not a very nice thing to have done. They had to go through a big artery to her heart with her awake the whole time while they investigated. Thankfully they were able to go up through her arm instead of her groin. The recovery was faster that way. I did my best to take care of her. She likes to be independent so it is hard for her to have more help than she thinks is needed. I feel a big responsibility in taking care of her. I am a little tougher than I was 5 or 6 years ago when I helped her with her knee replacement surgery therapy. That doesn't compare as far as what I had to do, so it isn't a good comparison, but emotionally I am in a better place. It is hard on me to see mom in pain and go through such things. It also makes me wish she would be here to comfort me when I have to go through those things one day.
