Memorial Day

Fixing up Calvins new bike we got him for his birthday

This was my first trip meeting the whole family. I flew up from Corpus Christi for a work meeting in Dallas. Tia and I went on a date Thursday night to the temple and then to get some food. We ended up eating Chick-Fil-A. We accidentally stayed out too late and when we noticed the time it was almost 1 in the morning. Tia looked extremely tired and I was deeply concerned that she had an hour drive back to her mom's house. I decided to drive her back home and then catch an Uber back to the hotel I was staying at. She was concerned but I knew it would be better for me to drive as she was falling asleep just sitting there. The drive was hard for me to stay awake and I am sure my eyes closed once or twice. Tiaura slept almost the whole way home. She was so beautiful and I loved watching her sleep. I was glad to have the chance to serve her in that way. She was very concerned about me getting back to the hotel and getting enough rest. I told her I would be okay. I caught an Uber and paid about $75 dollars. I figured it was better than her not making it home that night. The next day Tia came to pick me up from work. I was having lunch with my boss Greg across the road from our corporate office in Irving. He offered to get Tia a lunch as well which was very nice. She ended up getting there a little late so I ordered her a Salad to go. She ate that as we drove towards her mom's house. We decided to go to the mall as we a little bit of time before we had to be back to the house. We walked around and talked and had a lot of fun. We even stopped at a pottery place and talked about how fun it would be to paint the pottery until we saw the prices!! Way to expensive and we didn't have enough time to do anything. We also sat in a massage chair and laughed as we watched as people went by. It was a lot of fun. We looked at the clock and realized that we were running late and needed to get back to the house. I needed to make one stop at FedEx to finish the book I had written for Tiaura in order to propose. I told her that I had to mail something to the office in Corpus overnight. She seemed to believe me at the time so that was good ;) Sneaky Sneaky! When we got to the house, only Perry and Harrison were home as Greggie and Calvin were at school. I was able to meet Perry an Harrison and play with them. It was so much fun. Harrison and Perry seemed to be a little hesitant to play with me at first. Perry is very social so he very much enjoyed having my attention. the older boys came home and I was able to finally meet them. they seemed very excited that I was there. We ended up going outside to play on bikes and I rode a bike with Greggie down the street. We had a nice ride together and just talked. I asked him how he would feel if I married mommy and he said he would really like that. We had pizza with the boys for dinner and then got the boys in bed. Grandma Smith watched the two older boys so Tia and I could go out on a date. We went to Braum's and got some ice cream. We came back to the house and watched a movie and then went to bed. It was a wonderful day! How grateful I am that the Lord brought us together and that I was able to have such a special experience meeting Greggie, Calvin, Perry and Harrison.

Mother's Day

Calvin decorated this flower pot and planted this flower. He was so excited to share it with me.

I was visiting for Mother's day and gave Tia and Momma Smith a card for Mother's day. Oh..And I proposed for her to be the mother for all of our children. :)

Calvin 7th Birthday!

Calvin had a nice family party. Geoffrey got to be there and that was special. He bought him a new bike! Calvin was very excited about it. It took some figuring to get training wheels on it. Calvin has a good heart, he is very giving when he feels loved and safe.

I am glad that I was able to be there for Calvin's 7th birthday. I bought him a Paw Patrol stuffed animal but while visiting for a couple of days, I realized that Calvin didn't have a bike that was well suited for him and felt that was something we could give him together. Tia and I went to Walmart Friday night and picked out the surprise. He was very excited to have a new bike! It was fun being able to spoil him together with Tia.

Geoffrey Proposed and We are Engaged to be Married!

I was definitely nervous the day I asked Tia to marry me. I had reached out and asked Tia's mom for permission to marry her daughter. She told me that she would love that and thought it would be good for me to ask Brigham for permission as he was the oldest brother. Well then she informed me that we would be going to a baptism that afternoon and that most of the brothers would be there and it would be good to talk with each of them. This would be the first time that any of them would meet me and here I was seeking permission to marry their daughter!
It just so happened that Brigham had some major updates to their house so Tia wanted to go and see the inside. While we were there, I pulled Brigham aside and talked to him about my feelings of Tiaura and my intentions to marry her. He thought it would be wonderful and supported me in seeking her hand in marriage. I enjoyed talking with him. It was like talking to an older brother who cared and wanted both of us to be happy.
We went back to the house and had Calvin's 7th birthday party and then headed up to Natalie's baptism. After the baptism, I started meeting all of the family. The most memorable was Cody. He said, "Well you aren't as attractive as the last boyfriend but you also aren't registering as high on the jerk scale". As we started talking about my job he informed me he was a nurse and we talked a bit. Then he said, "Well I here you are thinking about practicing polygamy". I felt really awkward and right in that moment Tia walked up and Cody turned his attention to her which was nice. I then pulled Ammon and Adam aside and talked with them about my desires to marry Tiaura. To my surprise, they both seemed very happy and glad to see my intentions. Here I was meeting them for the first time and yet they treated me as if I was already family. I did get the brotherly love that if I messed up the would take me to the wood shop. So.....that was nice. They all seemed very okay with me asking Tiaura to marry me. I decided that when we got home from the baptism that I would ask for her hand in marriage.
Geoffrey pretended that he wanted my mom to take some pictures of us. I knew something was up because I saw him whispering to my mom just before we went outside. I didn't think he would dare propose because I had just been feeling extremely less confident in us as he seemed to have a lot of similar character traits as my first husband which caused me some anxiety. When we were taking pictures, he turned me around and handed me the last page of the book he had written of our story and as I was read, it was him wanting to marry me. I turned around and he was on one knee.

I ordered a picket camera/recorder to go in my pocket in order to get my angle from the proposal but when we got home, I wasn't able to get it attached to my jacket and had to forgo. I told Tia that I wanted to take pictures with her while we still had clothes on. She asked if she meant all of us or just me and her. Her mom and I talked for a second in secret which probable allowed Tia a little heads up that something was coming. We walked out to take pictures in front of the butterfly bush that is in Momma Smiths yard. While there I handed Tia the last page from eh book I had written her. While she was reading, I pulled out the ring and knelt down behind her.

I didn't know what to say. The ring was absolutely gorgeous and I felt like I could see myself marrying him but I wasn't sure! I wanted to be sure! I felt such anxiety. He told me not to be afraid, that he was only wanting me to know how serious he was about me. He didn't want me to feel trapped. I said yes, and my mom took this picture.

When she finished reading, she turned around and she saw me on one knee. I told her how much I loved her and asked her to marry me. She was definitely in shock and seemed a little concerned at first so I informed her that this was my commitment to her. She could always change her mind but that this ring was a symbol of my love for her. She agreed to marry me and we took some more pictures.

He then danced with me in the street as he played the song, "Like No Yesterday" for me. It was just what I needed. Absolutely perfect and fitting. I knew that it was right, but I also knew that Satan would get to me and I would probably lose my confidence in it easily. Therefore, I decided if we are going to get married, let us do it soon. Give Satan less time to mess it up.

Then we went for a little walk down the road and I showed her a song, "Dance like there's no yesterday". She then felt at peace and felt that we were indeed meant to be married. She seemed a lot more excited and she seemed to be more at peace. I was extremely excited that she had said yes and that I was now engaged to the prettiest, most wonderful woman in the world!

We told the boys, Calvin was like, are you finally getting married before we even told them. Greggie was very excited as well.

After a while we went in to tell the boys and they were indeed very excited. Calvin said, "oh are you married now?" We laughed and said no not yet but we are going to get married!. Greggie was giggling and very excited. Tia showed them the ring and they were shocked. Greggie said, "Is that a diamond? You have to dig really deep in mine craft to find diamonds!". We knew that he understood how special the ring was for Mommy! We all hugged and were excited to keep moving forward in our adventures.
