Baby Bella Birth Pt 1

We were trying to go into the hospital for them to break my water and start the labor process as the stripping my membranes didn't work. The ultrasound was showing baby girl to be almost 10 pounds. We had scheduled for the water breaking to be september seveneenth, but the night before we got a call from the hospital saying they were full and would have to call us when they had room. We waited all Friday and Saturday. It was so nerve wracking not knowing when we would be able to go in for the water to be broken. I was really done with waiting haha. Finally, I got a call at 3am Sunday that they had a room for us at the hospital. I called my mom, and while we waited for her arrival, Geoffrey and I went for a last walk around the street. We talked about how this was it! We walked together almost every day the last month. Our neighbors would watch us haha.

Made it to the hospital
I was thankful it was a peaceful drive compared to the last time with Harrison.

Made it to our room

Getting our room and ourselves ready

The birthing outfit Geoffrey got me.

The nurses came in and check me and they were about to set me up with patocin for inducement. I stopped them in their tracks. I was just getting my water broken. They almost sent me back home because they said they didn't have that information and the doctor has to do it not them. Well, thankfully that got a hold of Dr. Van Deventor and she came in and broke my water. She decided to stay to see how quickly things moved.

My water was very slow at first coming out. my contractions began to grow and water came out a lot. I was always surprised how much more would come out. Geoffrey was good with helping me however I needed, trying the different things we had learned together for natural birth. I played Isabell from Il Divo music as I was in labor for the first little bit.

It really was starting to intense. So much so, the doctor checked me in this position and said I was ready to push! I couldn't believe it because I didn't feel the urge to push yet. I got onto the bed which was not easy with my contractions and she checked me and I was an 8. She said not quite ready like they thought but almost. The nurses had started preparing for her arrival. But now that was on pause.
I got up again and tried to do what I could to get through the contractions.
She checked again an hour later, I was still an8! I couldn't believe it! I decided to try a bar. They set one up at the end of the bed, I sat up and held onto the bar, a nurse sat below me and took my hand for me to squeeze. It was helpful as I bore through the contractions that were SOOOO HARD. Geoffrey was pushing on my lower back when they would happen. I would hurt more if he stopped and it was hardly bearable even with him pushing on my back. I was doing all I could. I would yell out sometimes and loose some control but bring it back. I rocked my head on the bar, hitting it on the bar (caused bruising) and was shaking my tongue a lot. Finally they checked again. I was STILL an 8!
Geoffrey was shaking and not able to keep going and I was not sure how I was going to be able to keep going, my own strength of gripping the nurses hands was gone. I said I guess it is too take for an epidural. She said no, it wasn't. So I got an epidural. The nurses were amazingly wonderful helping me supporting me through trying to do it naturally. I was at an 8 for 4 hours. Couldn't believe it. Baby girl was stuck. She started to drop in heart rate so they put a catheter with fluid inside to help.

I couldn't relax, even with the epidural. It went in smoothly and that was a blessing. It really numbed my left side but not my right so much. I really felt a burning in my right hip that was almost unbearable as well. It was trying to open up more so baby girl could get out. I was really trying to be calm but it took a lot. I was listening to birth affirmations and smelling some clary sage. Geoffrey had a fan on his head blowing at me.
